Give Thanks

Image
Today I am working on my card for fall. I love this time of year, just like spring. Although it has very hot here for this time of year. I like this SU stamp set, full of blessings. I used a maple leaf design from the silhouette store, sorry I could not find the item number. I put a 4 x 5.25 card front on my mat and then subtracted the cut. I took the leaf cut and stamped my image and them popped it up with some mounting tape. The sentiment is also SU, hand-penned holidays. Of course I inked all the edges and added some imaginisce heat dots. Hope you enjoyed this card and come again soon to see what I am working on. Here is a different version of this card made into a shaker. Halloween Card

Image
Today I am making a card for the grand kids.  I like the way this turned out. I followed the outline from Cards in Envy challenge (purple and green). The design is a download from Miss Kate Cutables. I changed it up a bit to add the purple glitter paper. My Explore had no problems with the heavy paper, turned out wonderful. The background cut is from Recollections, I picked it up on sale at Michaels. I inked it with Grape Crush (SU), and added a background print from Cloud 9 designs (I don't know where I got this, I have had it for a while).   This is a 5x7 card because of the background cut. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado, I used some opaque sparkle embossing powder from recollections. Hope you like this a come again to see what I have done. Should be starting on Christmas cards soon. http://cardsinenvy.blogspot.com/2016/10/purple-green-card-challenge.html http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2016/10/halloween-theme-challenge.html http://cardztv.blogspot.com...

Rhinestone shirt

Image
Today I am trying something new with my Silhouette. I told my granddaughter I would make her a volleyball shirt for her birthday. I watched a few wonderful videos at the rhinestone world.com and learned a few thing about heat vinyl and rhinestones. I watched a few videos about how to do it with the Cricut; however, you have to have a separate program to develop the cut file in to import to Design Space.   I don’t have any of those, I know inscape is free; but, I will have to read up on it first.   I purchases the t shirt at Michaels and the rhinestones at Hobby Lobby. They have a limited selection, so I ordered some others at the rhinestone world site. The font is Impact and the die cut is #5833 for Silhouette store. This was fun, although it took me 3 tries to get the rhinestones in the right placement on the shirt.   But it turned out wonderful. She is turning 12 and it will look great on her. Hope you enjoyed this post and will come again soon.   Ch...

Things with Wings

Hello, Hello: It has been a long time since my last post. I have been very busy with the garden and grandchildren this spring and summer. Once the weather turned into the 100's the garden stopped making anything.  I have a lot of caned veggies for this winter. I hope to continue to work on getting my card stack built up.  I need to start on Christmas cards, hope to have one for you to look at tomorrow. So, I have turned back to crafting. I love making cards and seeing the persons face when the open it.  I found a few items in the design store and really liked the way they fit together.  I went with a single layer card and then added the retro circle frame (item 4279) and Mason jar (item 124055).  I had some butterfly stickers that added just the right touch. Thanks for stopping by hope you come again soon.  Challenges Entered: http://cardz4galz.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/challenge-29-butterflies-or-dragonflies.html http://craftrocketchalle...

Garden Picks

Image
For the last several days I have been attempting to get my scrapbook up to date.  These photos were taken in 2013 of the garden.  Last year was a disaster, with all the rain washing away the nutrients from the soil.  I used Country Life and my Cricut expression to make these pages pop. We always have a small garden but this is the first year we attempted a big one. Worked great, I caned lots of beans and froze some squash, but gave a lot of it away. Hope you enjoyed your visit and come again soon to see what I am working on.   Challenges Entered: http://lemonshortbreadchallenge.blogspot.nl/ http://www.craftysentiments.blogspot.com/2016/02/anything-goes-challenge.html http://www.ttcrd.blogspot.com/2016/02/ttcrd-challenge-feb-23-mar-1.html http://www.craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.com/2016/02/challenge-300-always-anything-goes.html http://notjustcardschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/february-challenge-29.html http://our-cra...

Hearts in a Cup

Image
Today I am working on Valentines for my 6 grandchildren, and a few friends. I thought this was a cute idea to show how my cup overflows with love. I used my Explore and a cut from Ashlyn's Alphabet and added some digital paper so I could print and cut. The hearts are free, the background it from Elegant Edges. I popped up the cup and then filled in the hearts. I thought it needed something extra so I added some bling and a bow. I really like the way it turned out, hope you do to and come again soon to see what I am working on.     Challenges entered: http://www.craftysentiments.blogspot.com/2016/01/anything-goes-challenge_26.html http://creativecardcrew.blogspot.com/2016/01/105-anything-goes.html   http://www.ttcrd.blogspot.com/2016/01/ttcrd-challenge-for-jan-26-feb-1-2016.html http://tuesdaythrowdown.blogspot.com/2016/01/tuesday-throwdown-tt278-anything-goes.html http://bunnyzoescrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/january-challenge-hearts.html ht...

Teacher Gift cards

Image
This week I have been working on making some gift card holders for the grandkids teachers.   The holder is from the Silhouette store and the little owl is a Miss Kate Cuttables file. I put it all together and made it into a print and cut file. I filled it with “subway” gift cards.   Subway is always a hit, it is just down the street from the school. Hope you like it and will come again soon.   Challenges entered: http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/2015/06/challenge-149-anything-goes.html http://creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/challenge-82.html http://simplypapercraftsforalloccassions.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/challenge-6.html

Butterfly Cards

Image
Today I am making some beautiful butterfly cards. My stash has been rapidly depleted, I gave away some boxes of cards for Christmas. This is a simple card. The first has just one embossed layer and the other I put a colored layer under the embossed top. The flourish is from silhouette design store # 59369 and the butterfly is from Cricuts' Garden Cards. It is nice to have both machines running at one time, it makes everything go a lot faster.     I hope you like these and will visit again soon. Happy New Year

Image
I have a very cute card today, I made it for my sister. She doesn't do Christmas, so I wanted to make her something to ring in the new year. She moved this past summer, I don't get to see her as much as I used to. I used a design from Silhouette design store #53369 and a Miss Kate Cuttables file "banners set of 4". I wanted to write on the banner and so I used my Silhouette gold pen.  The card base is design #57422. You can't see it in this photo very well but I used glitter paper for the bubbly and a metallic paper for the background. I think this turned out super cute. Hope you like it and come again soon.  Challenges Entered: http://www.craftysentiments.blogspot.com/2016/01/anything-goes-challenge.html http://creativecardcrew.blogspot.com/2015/12/103-anything-goes_22.html http://lemonshortbreadchallenge.blogspot.nl/2016/01/challenge-6-anything-goes.html http://sweetstampsblog.blogspot.com/2016/01/january-anything-goes.html http://www.ttcrd.blogsp...
